Woke up at 3:30am to drive up to port with rachael to run the race. Was kind of afraid to warm up because I wasn't sure how my tendon would react but it was ok. Started off the race a little back from the line so my official time might be a few seconds slower but this is what my watch said. Martin and I planned on running 5:50 or so the first mile because it was all uphill but we kinda failed at that haha. We worked together for the first 3 or 4 miles passing a few people at a time. With a little more than a mile to go I really started to die as my legs were exhausted and Martin started picking it up a bit to catch a couple more guys. I tried to hang on the back of him but couldn't quite do it. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this race, especially considering how bad this week was for me. Only missed my PR by 9 seconds!! I think my legs are officially back from injury so I'm going to pick my miles back up this coming week.
