Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
tried to get up early and beat the heat. it was my first 15-miler in atlanta. i felt alright for the first half-- mostly on the flat, but was feeling a little tired from a faster week. hit the trails about 45min in because it was starting to heat up. there were a lot of hills that wore me out too early. got back onto the path at 1:05-1:10, running noticeable slower. it was really hot, i was tired, and i kind of fell apart. i wanted to finish the 15, so i slogged through the last few miles, stopping a couple times for water, once because i had a side cramp. last two miles just under 8-min pace.
finally finished and felt terrible. my head was swimming and i felt like i was going to pass out. luckily i had a bunch of water and gatorade. stretched while drinking, still didn't feel great-- my legs were shot, and i was really dehydrated. got home, showered and ate before watching tv for the rest of the day.
talked to coachl: dropping down to 50-55 for the rest of the summer with 4 cross-training days (hopefully)-- 2swim, 2 bike. gearing up for an olympic distance triathlon in three weeks (1500m swim, 40k bike, 10k run). i think i might go down to running 6 days a week.
