I tried to run a one-mile loop I made last summer 3 times, but when I was beginning the third one, my dog decided it would be fun to chase me. I didn't want him to get lost or hit by traffic, so I peeled off and did a little extra, but I decided to stop because although it's pleasant in a way to have a dog running at your pace next to you, when I started to go faster than my dog wanted, he bit me. My ankles feel tight (probably from locking them up a bit to make it easier to avoid landing on rocks), my feet are sore, and I've been running for 6 days so tomorrow is an off-day.
On the plus-side, the first mile was 6:52, the second 6:19, and I slowed down in the last third of a mile for obvious reasons. I'm going to do a 5K time trial on Friday to see whether or not I can PR.
