Did this on a circular cinder track...made me feel like it was the 1950's. I wanted to be able to get an accurate gauge of pace for future reference.

Was 8 x 2:00 on, ~1:30 off. I would pick it up for 2 minutes and then recover until I reach the starting line again, which was generally 70-85 seconds, so never actually 1:30, but whatever. I hit 5:40 pace for the first 4 reps, then slowed it to 5:50 for the next 4 because I hadn't intended to hit 5:40's. It's still mad early and I'll have plenty of time to run 5:1x miles in workouts during the season. Overall I felt pretty smooth and only on the last couple reps did my legs feel tired at all. I checked my HR after a few reps and it was generally around 170-180, which is what I was shooting for. Shins felt fine, so that was good.
