Comments:
outside the trails at shamrock there are some big wood signs with "shamrock forest" artfully written. It looks pretty cool, but it's a little overdone. I ran with John, who's done with work. He's worried because he just found out he's gotta try out for the Vandy team. The coach basically guaranteed him a spot last year, but they're cutting the roster to 12-- with 10 returning runners. I related my experience with our tryouts last season-- being worried, but ending up alright-- but we have a larger team, and it's not DI competition I was facing, but I hope I offered him some peace of mind. We ran about 6 laps on the trail-- each one a little less than a mile. I didn't feel winded, but my legs were heavier than expected. also felt faster than 7-minute pace. probably hit the last lap in 6:30ish pace. about 10 minutes barefoot after at John's suggestion. it felt good, and was a nice cooldown. stretch.
