Tempo Ride

I keep feeling sick (not actually sick) about not being able to run and losing distance fitness. That spurred a tempo bike ride at North Park, 4xlake loop. I started out pretty hard and did the first lap in 15:11. I didn't think I could sustain that so I planned on taking laps 2-3 easy and hammering the last one. The 2nd and 3rd laps were about 15:50 and 15:20 so I didn't really slow down too much. I hammered the last lap with the goal of sub 15. 14:58 last lap. This was the equivalent of a tempo effort run (maybe a 6 mile tempo?). Hardest biking workout I've ever done. Definitely improving my biking so maybe that will translate to sustaining or only minor losses in running shape.
