Comments:
Made this into a semi-workout. 2 x 2 mile, took 2 minutes in between. Wanted to hit 6:00 pace for the whole thing but as soon as I started I could tell I wasn't really feeling it today. Just gave it the effort that I felt was appropriate for this point in the season.
The first rep splits were 6:15,6:16. The second rep was 6:12, 6:32 because the second mile was mostly uphill. The whole thing was uphill and downhill so that no doubt had an effect on things as well.
Not too worried or anything because this was my first sustained harder effort, and the first one sucks every year. Plenty of time.
Passing all the bars on Brownsville reminded of the Brownsville Bar Crawl from last year. Good times.
