1hr 5min
everyone did the workout yesturday so I’m doing it alone today
thought was going to au…but ended up at glover…after drills I ran off the the bathroom…got left behind…panicked…finally like half an hour later (ok maybe it was just 20?) I finally found him…
over half an hour into the run I finally got ready for my workout. We went on the side road off the glover trail (by 3rd intersection or something?) – apparently where anthony’s had ppl do speed workouts before so that’s what he associates with the road – cauz its mostly flat with slight declines to get those fast twitch muscles going.
The work out was 6 pick-ups (like striders) about 150ish meters? With very little recovery time (I don’t remember how many seconds he gave
me…perhaps 30 or 40??)
Anthony joined me – but with his injury and being out of shape, he didn’t stay right next to me, but still impressively kept up and kept me going right behind me and was the voice I really needed
Pick up #1: 42sec – felt good, like a fast but relatively controlled strider – still aggressive tho considering the workout…
Pick up #2: 42 or 43 sec? – felt much harder this time…questioned how fast I should be doing these. Wheezing afterward – Anthony had to keep me jogging, focused and breathing
Pick up #3: 43 sec – got out rocky but got some form but 2nd half and especially that last fourth was ughhh…questioned whether I could even do Saturday’s race…if this workout felt like this, how would I possibly do championships? And why would I possibly want to??
Pick up #4: 43 sec – more determined this time to just do it, managed to get thru the finish line. Trying to focus on form but so hard with frozen arms. Thought about what William would tell me to do.
Pick up #5: 41 sec – had a min and half recovery before this one which certainly helped. Anthony told me to rely on my adrenaline for this last one. Got out with a few good strides and then got right up on the balls of my feet (not quite me toes at an all out sprint). Focused on short quick steps and form. Managed to bring it in all the way thru the line (Anthony telling me to catch that Sidwell or Holton girl…) shaving off 2 seconds!
Hard work-out but I did it and think I did it pretty well. Altho all three of those middle ones were miserable, I think I maintained relatively decent form even if I was weezing afterward…I got through it and didn’t give up ?
Then finished the run back to school, which was another load of mileage…did a whole LOT of running today…especially with all the running I did prior what with getting lost/confused ‘n all
