WOW! I DID IT!!! Even though I didn't accomplish my PR due to unforseen situations, I am SO PROUD of myself for not giving up, not stopping, and overall finishing strong. It was TOUGH! No one prepares you for the infamous last 5 miles. Once I reached the Bronx soon after the 20th mile, my mentrual cramps intensified and my feet began to hurt me so badly, especially after realizing that there was another bridge coming up. My thighs began to burn, and I was so worried about time. Ran exceptionally well until mile 20.5 - maintained a steady & remarkable 8.49/mile pace, thereafter, I began to fall apart and the remainder of the race was a nightmare. I am a fighter and refused to give up even if it mean't collapsing & the paramedics were called in to pick me off the pavement. This day was one of the best days of my LIFE! NYC Marathon 2011 was by far the most memorable & amazing time I've experienced here in NYC (my favorite city I call home). Got to meet some amazing & unique people from all over the world. I can't wait to run NYC again! It's all about hard work, perseverance & determination. Hoping to do Boston soon - perhaps Chicago or Philly or LONDON or JAPAN..HA! I can't wait to share this experience with my unborn children. They are going to be so proud of their mommy! Til the next training - signing off: Chazmataz....CORRECTION: Running to resume manana!!! :)
