Brownsville Tempo + Country Club Add On

Comments:
1 mile warmup, then did 6 miles in 35:20, then 1.1 mile cooldown. When I was 2 minutes from my house (on the way back), I ran into my friend Dave Adley. He ran for William and Mary back in the day, but since he doesn't run anymore he was going at a relaxed pace. I decided to run with him and went for another 10 minutes with him as we caught up. Then I was 10 minutes from my house so I had to run back.

I had intended to do my long run tomorrow but I guess this was it, more or less. Not sure what I'll do tomorrow; I might take the day off.

As far as the tempo, the week before preseason my senior year I did this run (8.0 miles) in 48:00, which was my "PR" for the course. Today, I knew I only wanted to do like 6 miles, so I did the first mile as a warmup in 7:00. Then I ran 5:55,6:00,5:42,5:40,6:00,6:02. Total time for the 8.1 miles was going to be about 49:40 I estimate, so if I had run the first and last miles seriously, I am pretty sure I could have "PR'ed", which makes sense because I think I am in my best endurance shape ever at the moment. There are a ton of hills on this run, so it makes the times mildly frustrating in general, but it's all relative.
