Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Went to the trainer today before practice and contrasted and wrapped my knee. By that time, the team had already left to warm up, and I hammered 3 miles alone before catching them on the indoor track doing drills. I rushed through stretches and drills and met everybody on the outdoor track and did leg swings on the fence. We ran four quick 200s first, with 400 jog recovery in between to warm up. These were:
33
32
31
33
By this time it was dark, and there was a dense fog on the track. This got Stephen and I pumped, for obvious reasons. I was assigned 7x600 at 1:37, or 65 pace based on my Vdot from the meet. Evans led us through the first one in 1:39, but dropped out soon after because he was feeling sick. I felt great on these, like I was truly flying. Flach, Ty, Lyle, and I ran as a group for the first few. Stephen came up on us and pushed the pace for a few also, almost tripping me multiple times. Since I was the only one whose indiglo worked, I was assigned the duty of calling 400 splits. We were pretty consistently 65 through 400, and would always slow down for the last 200. I envisioned Lillard's 300 out kicking principle during each rep, and this helped me stay motivated through the line. Our last two were both 1:37, because we decided to get a little quick. Flach and I raced hard to the finish line for the last one, and I am starting to think I am at his aerobic level, which hopefully calls for an 8:16 on friday (kidding, kind of). I will be running the 3k friday night with the rest of the upperclassmen. Flach is seeded first but Matt Mildenhall is in there as the top seed. Scary to think about. I am seeded 27th. We had a 1.5 mile cooldown to do after the workout, and then I showered and went to the Pricewaterhouse open house with Amanda, meeting some successful men in suits. Summary:
1:39
1:40
1:41
1:39
1:39
1:37
1:37
Shit will be fucked up on friday.
