was very happy with the dmr/800. got the baton in last, pack 20 meters ahead, resisted the urge to attack too much, and was rewarded by being able to maintain more in the end. PR in 2:03.5. we came within 7 seconds of the dmr record.
400... not as much. one of the worst timed warmups ever. had literally finished drills about an hour ahead. stood there trying not too get cold, trying not to get "de-psyched", both of which inevitably happened. when i got the baton, i didn't really sprint, kind of got out 800-style. 56.2. felt completely fine within about 20 seconds of finishing it, even though i couldn't manage to speed up. just the nature of the 400 i guess, your not going to accelerate so you have to make up for it by getting out.
