Roath Park

February 5, 2012 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
So definitely one of the strangest runs ever. Went to Roath Park, which I've walked and ran around before, but never in. It's a big lake, full (and I mean SWAMPED) of ducks and geese and swans and pigeons, and there's lots of cool plants (you can actually SMELL the flowers as you're running, even though it's kinda cold and even snowed yesterday), and there's even palm trees!!! (one of the strangest things about the UK.) One of the highlights of this run was passing a tiny boy, definitely no more than 2 or 3, who was waving a feather around and muttering and quite clearly pretending to be Harry Potter. His parents were walking about twenty feet in front of him and completely ignoring him. The birds are so weird around here; because everyone goes for walks in the park to feed them, they aren't scared of people in the slightest. THEY DON'T MOVE FOR YOU. I was completely freaked out. Swans are huge!!!! and EVERYWHERE. Was physically pretty tired on this run because I had a 25-hour day yesterday (traveling in England), but I took about 5 1-hr naps on coaches (buses) in there so I don't think I have much of an excuse. Time for eating and showering and studying!
