Dirt, Mud, Green, and the Cardiff Reservoir

Krzysztof showed me these beautiful wooded dirt trails tucked back behind Roath park. We made a few loops around the "lake," which is actually the reservoir that serves the greater Caerddyd (Cardiff :) ) area. The trails were treaturous; the mud was deep at some points, and at others it had hardened with people's footsteps sinking deep down, so that your ankles rolled dangerously everywhere you stepped. And we were moving pretty fast, as usual. I need to get to know my way around well enough that I can properly map my runs and find out how long they ACTUALLY are. I think I'm getting closer. Give me another week or so.

Just to clarify for those of you who are actually reading this to follow what I'm doing on this little break from crazy Case life, Krzysztof is NOT my only friend. He's just pretty much the only one who runs and he offers to run with me (except then he goes and runs another hour after we run... :/ ) I have an English friend in my concrete class named Jon who is super fun. He is a cyclist and considered the little "ambassador" for the civE department. An adorable Irish girl named Amie takes care of me in my graduate classes (structural engineering and soil mechanics) - when she is not busy freaking out herself. :P I am friends with my 4 flatmates, particularly an English/Australian girl named Poppy who is super helpful and worries endlessly about me and texts me whenever I leave the flat for an extended period of time (yes, I have texting here!!), and a quiet Polish girl named Aga who loves talking to me just because I don't have a British accent (she doesn't like it here :( ). I also have a good friend from upstate New York named Hannah who lives in another residence hall. I went up and watched harry potter with her and her friend over swedish cider last night; thus, it is after 3:00 on Sunday as I write this and I haven't started homework or ran yet. damn it.
