Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
first time i ran the mile in a while, and its been a really long time since i feel i was ready to race it. its not my usual cup of tea, but my pr wasn't an incredibly strong one, and even with out any real mile work i was pretty sure i could pr. needed the confidence boost really, and thats the reason i decided to run it. was in the second heat so i was thinking i could possibly end up alone. stayed relaxed the first lap, just trying to keep my pace, and then passed him on the back stretch of the second lap, and really never felt anyone's presence again. if some other people to run with maybe i could have run a bit quicker. i felt very in control during this race, which is something that i really like during races too. and as nick hewitt might have said, i got my swag back in this race. i felt good, and it resulted in a pr. i think one of the things that i needed to work on in addition to the confidence thing was having fun again. i've kind been putting a lot more pressure on each individual race since there aren't that many each year anyway. feeling better about things after this race, so hopefully here in a few weeks i can be back on track in my event.
