Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
I still don't like running twice :P I don't like showering twice and getting into the mindset twice, and it's after 8'oclock and I haven't started any work yet... gah.
Went down to Bute Park. went in past the other side of campus, by Cardiff Castle. felt great so took a good pace. it was quite windy, and I stayed off the pavement 98% of the time in the park. was on gravel, dirt, grass, mud... This makes you work harder, obviously, but it was kinda nice out and I didn't want to slow down because then I felt like I'd be giving in, since the first 40 minutes or so was easy at this pace. then on my third lap around the park my legs began to complain. but then I recognized my friend Krzysztof running up ahead on the path (recognized him by his really weird baggy blue vest that he wears over a t-shirt sometimes for no apparent reason), and he wasn't moving very fast at all, and I realized how exciting it would be to overtake somebody who runs low 16's 5k's. :P I held my good pace, but then just as I was getting to him, he veered off down a different path. I was not about to lengthen my run, so I veered off the other way, out of the park. just then, my legs freaked out. the mile and a half home was VERY slow; out of juice. so I guess that hurt the overall pace a lot. I assume that the majority of this run was paced a bit faster than this.
very tired from today. feel like I did nothing but run. which is mostly true. good thing I'm not planning on doing this again this week.
also, my feet are hurting. it's weird. my legs feel pretty good, but my feet are sore and crampy. it might be that my shoes have officially surpassed 400 miles. mom's bringing me some from coach but not for several weeks (my family's coming over my spring break). I need to go buy a pair here but they're SOOOOO expensive. for example, I use the Asics Nimbus usually, which is $130 in America, $78 with our discount, WELL IT'S $200 WITH THE EXCHANGE RATE HERE. dhsdfiohdsiofhdsifdsifdsfkfdhjk. I'm going to go down to the city center tomorrow and check the two Dunham's-style (or Dick's? for you cleveland people) sports department stores and see if I can get an old model of the Cumulus or Nimbus on sale or something. Fairly certain that I'll be paying at least $150 no matter what. sucksssssss to be a runner in the UK!!!! :P
