tempo, worse every week.

The issue here was that I waited to tempo until super late at night. I had class in the morning, then I was in the city centre for a few hours, then I got coffee and did some work with Julia (she's from Missouri). Soooo when I started tempo-ing, it was about 7, and, thus, DARK.

Taff trail at night SUCKS. You can't see a thing. Of course I read an article about people getting attacked at night on it in 2010 immediately before I left so I was completely freaked out. The entire run, I was terrified that I'd 1. get beat up 2. get raped 3. wipe out 4. run into a brick wall in one of the underpasses 5. get hit by someone on a bike. I was an emotional WRECK on the way out. I couldn't go my usual 5 because the last half before the turn-around is off the paved trail on a little path. no way I could do that in the dark. so I decided to just make it shorter and faster and cool down a lot. Clearly that didn't work as planned. The way back was better because I managed to calm down a bunch. The cooldown was MISERABLE. My legs are completely SHOT.

This was the first run in new shoes!!! Found the Nimbus 12 on sale at SportsDirect (like Dunham's...or Dicks...), which is going out of business. I also got a lot of nice running clothes from this expensive British brand super cheap!!! I'm still mad though because the shoes were about $120 after the conversion, AND they're white, AND they're too big. Still, it's better than the $200 that the Nimbus usually is here (!!!!!!!). I couldn't get my size because they don't have half sizes here in American shoes I guess, but the 7's were just a LIIIIITTLE bit small and I figured that significantly huge was safer than a little big small. I think maybe I figured wrong. It'll be okay though, because Mom's supposedly bringing me new ones from coach when she comes in a few weeks. Hopefully mom's feet are small enough that I can convince her to take these awful ones for herself. Fingers crossed.
