March 10, 2012 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: early spring or lingering winter?
Comments:
Chilly enough for long sleeves, but warm enough to roll them up. Drove the Belber girls to AU and began jogging four miles. Felt awful, slow, creaky, old. First 200 with the girls in 90 seconds. Then they began to explore on their own. Dropped it to 8:00 for a lap, then was down to 7:34. Paused after a mile to take twig out of shoe and touch toes. Then felt much better. Second mile was 7:09 or something like that.
After 10 laps decided to try the on off 200s I'd assigned the kids. Rushed the math but settled on a conservative "42" and "40." Did 8 laps, never very burdened (feeling guilty, in fact), but I can't claim it was a walk in the park. Definitely worked the lungs and legs, but didn't ever feel like a workout (except for final lap or so, maybe.) Splits= 45.2, 49.8, 42.5, 48.2, 42.5, 49.1, 43.1, 48.6 (6:08 mile) 41.2, 48.8, 41.4, 48.5, 40.0, 48.6, 36.9, 47.3 (5:53 mile)(12:01=2 mile)
