foot and stuff

March 11, 2009 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Ya, so I went and tried to run which was stupid as I can't really walk, but I had a friend who I hadn't talked to in forever and was going for a run so blah blah blah. I hobbled along with her for a while and then turned around and shuffled home. My foot has been getting better stedily, though the improvemenet from tuesday to wednesday was less than I had hoped it would be. I'm heading up to the D1 skiing championships tomorrow (thursday) and I'm planning to get a duble polling workout in. My hope is that I'll be able to limit flexding my ankle and avoid all impact (this is not realistic because of these anoying things called hills which require diaginal strideing and so on and so forth which require a modest amount of impact and a high degree of flexing but o well). Anyway, I have friends who are racing, so I want to see them ski. The whole thing is pretty much bull because the western schools get all these imports from estonia, norway, finland, austria, switzerland and so on and the eastern schools that are good like Dartmouth and Colby have to take my American friends as they actualy have admissions requirments.

I'm still not sure when I'll be back to a level at which I'm able to race. It might be early next week and it might be later this summer. I think I'll have a better sense by the middle of next week. I'm pretty hopeful that I'll come back from this and have a good outdoor season, but in the future I will be dropping out of any races that have 11 laps to go when I feal something snap in my foot. I'm almost back to walking without pain though.
