April 27, 2012 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Very Windy, Cold
Comments:
This meet was probably the worst I've ever run in terms of the conditions. The winds were insane, and at points it felt I could barely move against the wind. The cold wasn't much better, and it felt like no number of layers could combat it.
On the plus side I got a lot of running in this meet, although my cooldown was cut short since everyone was in a rush to get home.
My races were okay considering the winds. My 4x8 leg was pretty easy since we were far ahead of the only other team. My open 8 I was ahead of the next runner by 15 seconds, so while I went out pretty fast considering the wind (62 or 63), my second lap was kind of lackluster overall. I still ran a qualifying time though, which is a feat of epic proportions as far as I'm concerned. Lastly the 4x4 was kind of hilarious. I managed to coax out a 58, but overall no one was feeling like racing when all of the teams running were from Falmouth, so our A team, which is usually capable of 3:35 or so, ended up not even breaking 4. That's bordering on girl time, but I don't think we expected much more than that.
