Exercise Type: Run
Weather: cloudy; wish it’d been scorching hot, but it was oddly coolish, like a rain forest

 -Neighborhood: 7min
The run thru my neighborhood was stop and go – sprint and short jog, mostly sprint.
cc trail:
-Half mile 1: 4min
When I got onto the crescent trail I maintained more my even pace.
The aches and pains told me it was time to stop and my throat that it was time to get a drink. I kept running.
-Half-mile 2: 4min
I felt I was exerting enormous effort, but I was aware I was nevertheless running at a slow pace. My watch told me so.
-Half-mile 3: 4min
On the way out, I found no pedestrians ahead of me, contrasting with the stampede going in the opposite direction. When I turned around to join that stampede, I found only bikers. But I had plenty of anger left for motivation. I lost focus for a short minute, during which a pair of bikes past me. They were going all too slowly and ticked me off. I found myself latching on, thinking about how best to pass them. As I gained on them, I decided to pass at the next mile marker. However, 50meters away from the sign, I watched their legs suddenly quicken. But I stupidly continued to chase after them – a pair of bikes…. Who chases after bikes? I found myself eventually losing focus as they got lost rounding a turn.
-Half-mile 4: 4min
Coming out of the clearing I saw the bikes again – half a block ahead, mid-way up the bridge. I re-focused. I charged up the hill. My left side began to deteriorate. I felt a huge ball-point men jab into my inner-knee. At the next step, I felt another over-sized ball-point dig into the outer. Next step – a ruler press into the side of my calf. Next step – strings tearing at my shoulder. As I busted over the crest, I felt a water-balloon burst under my lung.
And then I was done.
I began to relax.
-Through neighborhood: 9min
