at another jazz camp at the university of san diego. using the brooks pure flow now -- went to a specialized running store, guess what? i have a neutral strike now. they used to tell me i was a horrible over pronator. the barefoot foot strengthening has worked. im noticing more of an arch now, i dont think that would just magically happen. but this also might be a clue as to why i had pain on the outside of my foot this spring. my old shoes were correcting for a problem that wasnt there, pushing my foot outward, probably contributing to those issues.
not to say i subscribe to the barefoot craze. i think i'll keep doing what im doing -- walk around barefoot and in minimal shoes, jog a minimalist half-mile every other day or so.
