April 11, 2009 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Low 50's with occasional light rain
Comments:
This was a dumb idea. The course sports 3300 ft of elevation gain.
I've never walked during a race out of fatigue before. (I walk water stops in marathons.) These hills were ridiculous. I'm willing to bet that no one was able to run the whole course without walking up some of the steeper portions.
I ended up getting lost and cutting off part of the course. Because of that, I have no idea how far I actually ran. I also voluntarily disqualified myself.
The trail race aspect of it was really cool and I want to do more in the future. Just, less hilly ones.
