Mountain Monday- First Urbana Stairs

Got out of work early today and headed home to meet savanna before she went to work. Then met shane and sean at chipotle and we just messed around and played mario cart and stuff all day. Then Jimmy came over and we headed off to the loaf. We ran 3 times up and my calf was bothering me pretty bad. I don't know what happened to it. I think I need to where my orthotics more. I went at a easy-moderate pace up of all them and it never really hurt. Then we headed up to do 3 sets of these infamous stairs. How hard could they be? I soon found out. My best estimation at the duration of one set is around a minute-minute and half. So, as a tradition we had to yell ESCAPE NO PAIN at the beginning and then begin our ascend. The last 2 flights were hell. As was the top where we could not bend over or sit down and had to keep clapping for whomever was behind us. My legs were literally shaking after this. A good sign that it was a good workout. Also, between yesterday and today it feels like I am finally getting into shape. Its not like hell on earth everytime I go out for a run. Its becoming enjoyable again which is good because I started doubting that it would ever become that again. Im feeling strong but the important part is to HOLD BACK on the rest of the runs this week so I can keep my legs feeling good. The point is to not have them beat up during the summer. There will be a time and place for pounding later on down the road.
