Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Went to South Chagrin for my long run and started at the Squaw Rock lot. From there, took the bridle trail west, until about when you cross 422 and it breaks up at which point I ran on the bike path. Continued on the path until hawthorn parkway ends, and I connected to Bedford Reservation where I continued on the path until passing under 271/480 where after about a minute past I turned around.
Several cool things about this run.
1. Apparently the Burning River 100 Miler started this morning at 5 AM, so once I was on the bike path going towards Bedford, which is part of the route, I was seeing some of the stragglers. I enjoyed trying to give them nuggets of encouragement, such as a "nice job" , "lookin' good" etc.
2. I am 99% sure one of the competitors I pasted was Dean Cyrus Taylor (College of Arts and Sci dean), because I read in the Case daily he was training for the Burning River, and he has a very distinctive voice; and it sounded like him.
3. I brought water along with this handheld water bottle I got, very nice thing to look forward to throughout.
4. I passed a woman riding her horse, I stopped, and she told me I didn't have to! That doesn't happen often.
Felt pretty good today, probably my best long run so far feel wise, even though I thought it would be pretty poo like since I was by myself.
