the day without power

Weather: hot and humid

Comments:
AHHH I had a dentist appointment at 11, so I just went for a quick run on my 2 mile route, figuring I can just get the rest of my miles in later on. Well, I went to the dentist. And that's not fun. We got home from the dentist to discover that our electricity was out, and it was hot. We figured they turned the electricity off so they could fix the powerline that fell the night before that, so we didn't think anything of it. So then my mother took me dress shopping, partially to stay cool and partially because there's a wedding this coming Saturday that I'm going to, and needed something to wear. I swear, we must have walked about 7 miles!!! We were shopping for 7 hours, so maybe even more than that!!! Anyways, we got back home to discover that the lights were out. It was dark and we had no electricity. Just flashlights. And all the streetlights were out, so I couldn't see. So the rest of my daily mileage went out the window... along with the electricity. We wondered why the electricity still wasn't on, though: every other street in our neighborhood had power except for ours. So we called the electric company, and it turned out that they didn't even know we were without it. Stupid electric company.
