Weather: cool, all in all... 70ish?

Drove to Banneker to join the Cardozo Crawlers for their 6:20am workout. We jogged ten minutes to the corner of Harvard and 16th St. Began a 30 minute tempo out and back down Harvard, along the bike path to Tilden and halfway up Moby Dick. Supposed to build the pace at every ten minute interval. Started with Charlie and Ben Geman, but allowed them to pull away after 9 minutes. After that I struggled to maintain a steady effort the rest of the way and the two uphill portions on Tilden and Harvard were UGLY. Worked a bit with Jeff and a fellow named David for portions of the return. Pace likely hovered right around 7:00 flat most of the way. We'd turned after 16 minutes, so I jogged up the second half of Harvard St. hill with Lauren who was still doing her tempo. We jogged back to the track afterwards. RTB seems to be a fading goal at this point. Right knee was an issue, but not debilitating... the struggles are much more directly related to being slow.
