Saw Dr. Klimkiwisz (sp?) this morning and got X-rays of both knees. He said there was nothing dramatically wrong with either knee. Prescribed an MRI (Aug 31) and told me to come back after (Sept 4) for likely a cortisone injection. Seemed to think it was likely patelar-femoral tendinitis issues in both knees. Agreed that I could be strenghtening the interior quad muscle and stretching for hamstring flexibility. Something about "It would have been easier to fix this after a few weeks ratehr than a few years..." Also some implication that I was running too much for the state my knees are in... but nicely avoided telling me to stop. Thinks the injection would allow me to train better, ease the inflamation, and "buy me some time."
It is rather irritating to be broken. I like running, and I'd like to be able to keep it up without constant pain. At least it doesn't appear to be anything serious... of course he can't tell anything without the MRI.
