Comments:
broke ten for the first time ever. although 3k pace easily equates to sub-10 pace, it was nice to actually do it. and i'm not in racing shape at all. it felt weird going fast, and i've gotta get a feeling for it again. i went out behind chris for the first lap (70), then ethan came by me at 700 for a second lap of 74. lap 3 was 72, and lap 4 slowed to 76 for a first mile of 4:52. i had dropped off of ethan, and corey passed too. i missed most of the splits in the second mile, and phil came up on my shoulder. at some point, brent and tim passed, and phil gave some encouragement. i relaxed a bit and moved up. passed tim with 500 to go, phil passed me with 250 left, and i passed brent with 50 to go. had more left than i realized, but i was happy with my performance. ran about 1.5 on the field barefoot, then another 4.5 through the cemetery and finished at the village. my toe hurts again. i think i'm gonna ask jess to take a look at it tomorrow. it's still not terrible, just sore, and i don't want it to get worse.
