Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 50, overcast, windy
Comments:
Woke up around 8 but dicked around trying to round up pics for the graduation slide show, which took 'til nearly 11. Did circuits (while watching "The Office", of course), then hit the road.
Didn't feel too tired or too sore initially on this run, despite the 8xhill workout yesterday. Kept it nice and easy. Definitely a layer under-dressed, as it was 50 at best with a cold wind. To start practicing for water/energy "intake" for my marathon return, I brought a 500mL bottle and a Clif Shot, and I ditched the bottle at the beginning of the trail loop.
The first loop felt pretty good; did 3 laps of the inner/open loop to add some miles. The wind wasn't too shitty. Stopped for a deuce just before completing my first lap. At the lap, I hammered a mocha Clif shot (AWESOME) and some water, with the clock at 1:03.
Second lap went TERRIFIC. I told myself not to hammer (as it's a recovery day), but without trying I ran this loop aggressively, feeling STRONG. Got a quick last drink from the bottle at loop's end then cruised home. Felt terrific on the cruise home, cutting that homestretch in like 12:40 (when it took 15 to come out!)
GREAT RUN. First true 15-er in a lonnnnnng time.
