mile repeats

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
first mile repeat workout of the year. at the farm. the weather was good-- a little chilly, but it warmed up by the time we were starting.
mile repeats on the course, using the markers along the 8k course, and then adding on the final mile as we would start the race. 3min recovery, adding 1min if necessary.
started out slow-- 5:28 for the first two. they were uphill, but still it was slow. felt dec, and stuck up with chris and ethan. 3 was mostly downhill, and we blazed to a 5-flat. halfway through, and i was still in the mix. the second half is easier, right? uphill for the fourth, and lactic acid set in-- rough. fell back some, and ran about 5:17. finished the 8k course with a short last mile in 4:50, right with chris and ethan. took 5min recovery before the last one, and started out feeling decent. it was a struggle, but i made it through the last mile in 5:06. exhausted. real solid workout. tacos at brooke's!!
