Exercise Type: Run
Weather: early autumn, cool and dry
Comments:
Walked to the park with Lew and the girls. Peeled off from them and began jogging around the reservoir from West 86th. Hard not to people watch and go fast in there. Split onto an outer gravel trail on the north side of the reservoir and took notice of a shirtless fellow with earphones and foaming armpits who was overtaking me as we merged onto the same trail. I was looking for leaves and trying not to compete... but you know how I am about people running with Walkmen. I overtook him 800meters later and consciously pushed the pace to loose him. WE ran that wide cinder trail that goes about a half mile north of the reservoir. He followed me at least back up around to the south side of the reservoir where I allowed myself a glance to confirm that he was 40 meters back and staring at me. It was a good distraction from the knees (which were mostly bugging me on the left today until the final half mile (When the right locked up) through the upper west side as I returned to Dad's apt after finishing with a traditional Reservoir Loop). All in all, a little under 5 miles I suspect. Trained home in time to catch a victory on Tivo over Tampa.
