Glory Days

October 13, 2012 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
its good to be a hopper. amazing what we can do when we finally race a forgiving course. 3 girls under the school record, 6 guys under 17, countless guys under 20. easily the greatest day in gds xc history. my own race was awesome. having to jump over a fallen bassett was distressing, but i regained calm and focus when he caught back up to me. i went out in 5:30 and averaged 5:25, pretty much the most painless splits for a 5k. i was really strong in the second half of the race, was constantly moving up. my finish was also great, i was able to use my speed in the final 400 to pass at least 15 people, I lost count. and I PR'ed by a minute and 12 seconds. i'm also catching up to guys that are usually way faster than me over 5k; i was only 8 seconds behind the mighty aidan. i used to feel like a mid distance runner who runs xc, but i feel like a real cross country runner now
