I was adamant to myself about staying positive today mentally. to treat the race as something fun, something i really wanted to do. it was working because at the line, i felt very little nervousness and smiled a lot. the first mile i tried to run the way i'd run a tempo, form-wise and relaxed. it felt really easy and just staying positive. wyatt and drew lost their shoes but drew caught up right next to me. and Benjamin true story. 507 first mile and top group in sight, 5 seconds. then i continued to push with the same mindset, i probably slowed down a bit but im not sure if 1030 is very accurate for the 2nd mile. still pushin, and not feeling too bad yet and trying to stay positive. 1552 for the 3rd mile. then 5k was 1611 but thats not right. i didnt really feel true pain until about 6k. the 4mile mark seemed to take forever to get to, 2112. at some point in the 3rd mile i saw a wabash fucker and i was like bitch u going down. i passed him for awhile but he passed me with a few hundred to go -_- and my finish was kind of weak. i need to be mentally stronger at the finish in the last 2 minutes or so. its hard because i had no teammates around me for that. i finished in 2604, but course was short. apparently by 13 seconds. ithink it could have been up to 30 seconds but even so it woulda been a pr, finally. so lets just say i ran around a 2620. we got 6th but behind higher ranked teams.
seasons just gettin started here, real work comes now. gotta push hard gotta stay up high and gotta make it to the end. believe. we got this. haters gonna hate.
