Regionals 2012

November 10, 2012 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
personally this race went pretty crappy. i wasnt happy with how i felt, nor how i ended up running. 2730 is just not acceptable for this level of competition. the only good thing i can say is that i saw 2 hope dudes towards the end and i dug deep to pass them. i normally wouldnt have been able to do that. it was determination to do anything that can help the team that got me to execute it.

but as for the team, i am so proud of everyone. we took it 1daat, we were focused for such a long season, and most of all we had so much passion. for most of the season we knew we could do it, we believed it. we knew what we had to do and we stayed flaccid and delivered. Ckells and Etwon have been the best captains that a teammate can ask for. i can honestly say i look up to both of them. im terrified just thinking about next year without the 2 of them. Even without Ethan at his fullest we defeated a ranked team at conference and got 3rd at regionals, closing the gap on wabash big time. David's been the epitome of consistency this year. you stepped it up big time this year, and i couldnt imagine what we would have been like without u up there. would we still have believed so firmly?
Phil you shocked me with how much passion and desire u have on the inside. youre down to earth, you do what u gotta do and in the end you always pull through. you've definitely been someone i look up to.
no better word than dedicated to describe Ben. it's amazing how consistent, involved, and dedicated you are on a daily basis. you believed in yourself and stepepd it up at Oberlin. Now you're going to nationals. you have shown that set backs don't have to hold you back. you gave back to the sport that has given so much.
tony and tim, we could not be here without you two. tim our vital scorer would be so hard to replace. tony you have so much confidence and persistence, it's inspiring. coach said that you fight til the end, and i could not have said it better. bright futures for the two of you.

it felt awesome to see that other teams were gunning for us. usually people didnt give a shit about us. but this year, it felt good to know that we commanded respect, we had authority, that people knew our might. and it felt damn good to beat them too, especially the great lakes' NYU, aka mount union.

Case XC 2012, it's been an amazing season. Final stop: Terre Haute!
