Federations! My last XC race ever in high school

Weather: Great racing weather. A bit cool but sunny

Comments:
Felt pretty had the day before, but I felt pretty good when I woke up. My confidence was shaky at times but I was ready to go when it needed to be there. I ate a large breakfast, took my inhaler and everything was pretty good. Left shin hurt a bit. Got there and relaxed for a bit, then warmed up. I was psyching myself up for the first uphill but less about the real one. Did speed d and a couple medium strides. Took my emergency inhaler 13 min before the race, and a squishy 15 min before. Adrenaline pumped and I started out pretty well. I got out and was in the top 20 and then top 7. The I moved up to the front at the playground and was convinced I could win the race, so I just started running away from the pack and made a gap on the downhill. After that it went quiet for a bit, then I heard the stampede coming at me, but I still stayed with them when they caught me until the mile mark. After that I fought up the hill, and someone shoved me into a tree so I got the wind knocked out of me. But I pushed down the hill and that kept trying the whole time, even though I didn't have it in me to do much good. Came in 91st, a pretty bad way to end the season, but I'm ok with it cause you just always have to keep plugging away and something great is bound to happen. If nothing else, I will never give up and never be afraid of possibilities
