My Breakthrough

Finally. I went out for a long run and came back satisfied for the first time since I started running again. The time was pretty bad, but I just wanted to get through it. About a mile into the run a gorgeous stray tried to run with me and did for awhile, which was kinda cool. Other than that I was out and about the town. The weird thing is I ran through downtown and a lot of busy streets, but I never once had to stop running because of lights or cars. Every time I got to an intersection it was always clear, something that does not usually happen. That run must of been meant to be. Anyways on the way back the last mile my on 441 both my quads cramped bad. I ran through it until I got home and then basically collapsed. It felt like there was a tight knot in my quads that I couldn't get out and it stayed like that for two days. I could walk fine, but bending my leg hurt like hell which made simple tasks like getting dressed not fun. After two days of pain IcyHot worked miracles, that and icing. I finally got through more than 5 miles, victory. I have a few races coming up; the first is the Peachtree and then a bunch of local 5k's which should be fun. I need to see how bad my 5k time is at race pace. In November I'm running a half marathon in Atlanta with the intention of tackling a marathon in the Spring of next year. Training is going to get a lot harder soon. I can't wait.
