Comments:
Stayed up a little too late last night and woke up right before the race. Felt like shit, which is always the case when I run right after waking up. The race was just an out and back along Kelly Drive. The first 5k felt pretty terrible, running into a pretty strong headwind at 5:30 pace. The way back felt a little better but still not great. I dropped the pace down to 5:10 - 5:15 and kept it like that until the finish. The kid who'd been hanging onto my shoulder the whole time absolutely took off with a mile to go and put like 20 seconds on me. So yeah, I got 2nd and felt pretty shitty but I got a pretty good tempo run out of it so I think it was worth it.
