Here's what happened. Due to the events of Tuesday 3/5 (see previous log), I woke up today with my quads absolutely WRECKED. Just going up stairs was a project, and sitting up or down was pretty painful. So I couldn't do the 4x800 workout, regretfully.

What I did was 2 miles elliptical, 2 miles treadmill, 2 miles elliptical, 2 miles treadmill. Between each segment, I took several minutes off just to stretch. It worked, more or less. By the end of the second treadmill run, I could run comfortably at 6'30" pace. Afterwards I regained almost my whole range of flexibility. Back at home, it still hurts a bit to sit up and down, but I'm much more optimistic about being able to run normally tomorrow than I expected to be earlier today.
