Comments:
We got there about 10 minutes before the races were about to start and there were only going to be 2 heats of the mile so I had to warm up in spikes. They made a change so there would be 3 heats then they changed it to 4 heats. As a result the majority of my warm up was striders. I wasn't very loose going into it. The warm up was bad and I didn't feel prepared. That and the fact that I was sore from all the stair jumps and lunges two days ago didn't help. I went out with the pack and got through 800 in 2:20. I was through 1200 in 3:40. The last 400 was really slow, I forgot to kick until about 100 meters out. But despite all the bad things that happened before the race and the worst week of training possible to have before a race I still managed to get under 5 finally. I did a long cooldown after to get in some mileage.
