Stonehenge

March 21, 2013 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Well, this run was interesting.

It began like any regular old Stonehenge, until Mile 4 when I got bad stomach cramps. This developed into me experiencing diarrhea right during the meet, and I had to stop running just to clench. That sucked. I found myself weighing two options: either walk home, or knock on someone's door and ask to use their bathroom. This was near the intersection of Grove Church Rd and Lee Wolfe Rd, which is pretty much bupkis land if you want to find a house. So I went further down Grove Church (after I tried getting into Union Church and found it locked) and found a house to use the bathroom. Luckily, middle-age Ohio residents are the nicest group of people I know. So it worked out. Then I ran back, mostly well and fine.

As for why this happened, I'm still pretty perplexed. I've been really good about avoiding unhealthy foods the past few weeks. But, damn, I'll live a pretty good life is this never happens again. I'm optimistic about the whole situation because hey, at least it's not a muscle injury - I mean, all you need is time if you want to clear out your GI tract. You can't quite flush out an injury. Anyway, the story will continue when I run again next, for better or worse.
