SFSU Distance Carnival 1500 &5K

Comments:
2M warm-up, 1500m race (4:08.48) 2M cool-down. 5 hour break. 3M warm-up, 5K race, 1M cool down.

Felt much better this week. Learning how to race again. 1500m splits were (~66,~66,~69,~47) 3rd lap was slow but I was passing a lot of people so it was hard to know that it was that slow. Need to work on starting closer to the front and running up there more. Overall good race, just need work on tactics.

5K went really well. 15:47.2. Splits were (4:58,5:04,5:11,34) Weird race. Everyone took off super fast for 50 meters and then slowed way down so I went from last at 50 meters to 2nd at 200 meters. Took the lead after about 800m. Held that until just before 2M. legs were pretty shot at the end. It was hard to tell with the splits but I think laps 11 and 12 were about 79-80...not good. Lots of room to improve. Overall, very happy. I went to it and put myself in good position to be faster than last week and while I feel apart it worked and I cut off 13 seconds.
