Therapy Mode, Day 2

April 2, 2013 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Bike

Comments:
Today I did a lot of biking, to get a lot of cardio work in while I'm out from running.

I guess I have some things for which I should be thankful. This injury didn't come in a very critical point in the season - I just finished a steeple weekend, and All-Ohio is still a week and a half away. And the injury doesn't cause me pain when I'm not active, 95% of the time. There are times when I'll be just walking from class to class, and suddenly feel sharp pain in my hip. However, those moments are just occasional, and I still can't trigger the pain if I wanted to.

When I'm on a foam roller, I can actually trigger the pain. Rolling out the muscles seems to be a big step to recovery, because the affected muscles are so deep that icing doesn't so a great lot of help. I can actually feel changes occurring when I'm rolling it out, so I'm going to hit the KAC very often to get this behind me.

I really, really don't want to miss Marv Fry. Losing a racing opportunity last weekend didn't phase me too much - after all, I went to Denison extraneously last season, so I didn't feel guilty about missing one meet. But two is too much. As I described myself to a teammate today, "I'm just 150 pounds of can't-run", and I'd rather be 150 pounds of earning-points-for-the-team.
