Field Rd and Back+

April 8, 2013 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Sunny, warm

Comments:
Didn't get to do anything over the weekend due to a combination of physics homework and shutting myself in to write my graduation speech. Wasn't too tight though. We ran up to field road, turned back and took a detour through the half mile loop, and got back on the road and continued home. Didn't have my GPS watch handy so I'm estimating the distance using mapmyrun and my limited trail knowledge. When we got back we did some barefoot running and I finished up with a big ten and some ankle strengthening.

Mr. Paul said that Brian, Sean, and I are doing hard 200s tomorrow while everyone else will be doing 200s and 400s. WHY. I RUN A 24.mid IN THE 200 AND CAN PROBABLY RUN 53 IN THE 400, MY SPEED IS FINE. In fact, my speed is way out of proportion with my endurance, which is unfortunate since I am a distance runner. With my speed I have potential for some crazy 800 times, but those times won't happen unless I start running some 400s. I'm going to try to explain my perspective to him and hope he understands that when your 800 runner just went to New Englands as part of a 4x200 team, he's probably all set for speed for awhile. I suppose part of this is my fault for not communicating about my past couple races, where it's felt like I've had no energy to push the second half, but I thought that was pretty self-evident in my 200 splits.
