1600, 2x800, 4x400 with 2:00 rest

Felt the same way I did yesterday, just completely weak, fatigued, and powerless. I don't know what this feeling is. It has nothing to do with how hard I'm training or how tired I actually am. I never feel like this on the weekends or any other day when I'm not working. I only get it after work.

I started off by slogging through a 3 mile warm up at 7:45 pace, feeling like I couldn't possibly go any faster. I had shaken off a little bit of the tiredness by the time I started the workout, but I still felt pretty weak during the first 1600. Ran a 4:56 and it felt way more painful than it should have. During the 8s I continued to shake off the tiredness a little bit, but still didn't feel full strength. For the 4s I changed out of my trainers into my spikes which gave me a nice mental boost and I finally started to feel strong again. I ended up crushing the 4s and salvaging the workout. I was a little too wasted afterwards to muster up much of a cooldown so I just jogged a half mile and called it a day.

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I was expecting another disaster like Monday. Not only did I feel like complete shit today, but it was also 88 degrees when I started the workout. 88 degrees is never ideal training weather, but it's even shittier now because I'm used to running in 30-50 degree weather. The warmest weather I've done a workout in up until this week was probably 55 degrees or so.The weather's basically gone from February to July in the course of a week. It's weird because it feels like summer, but there still aren't any leaves on the trees. Another example of spring mindfuck. Fortunately it's supposed to get back down into the 40s and 50s this weekend so I won't have to worry about this for Saturday's race.
