'Ran' the 1600 today. Was put on the waterfall to begin with., My plan was to get out off the waterfall in 1st to the people on the waterfall, but 2nd compared to the people who were on the lanes. From there i would do exactly what I did in the two mile Tuesday and stare at the neck and follow every move. So I did just that with John, however John got too far up and was upfront with Corey. I went in the middle of them and had a nice wind block and tactical blocking. However, at about 350 I feel someone pushing me trying to pass me on the inside. at 400 after pushing forever Sam finally says 'It's me Tom its okay". So at that point I have Parrish out near lane 3 to my right, and Sam basically pushing me, so I have no choice but to let him go up because he keeps pushing me. So there was mistake number one, letting Sam just take it from me because he's my teammate. So I drop back like 3 places because I had to slow down. The next 400 Corey continues the lead and trys to make a gap, but we slowly close it and I'm in third by 800. At 900 Sam breaks for it. I don't go with him because I was on Corey at that point. However, I eventually decide to go catch him- right on the 30 mph wind back stretch. So there's mistake number 2, I get screwed and take all the wind for a group. At 1100 I get passed by said group. Then mistake number 3 - I just quit. I was tired and didn't feel like racing so I didn't. Cool stuff. Don't know the time. Don't care about the time. Don't remember the place. Don't care either.
