Exercise Type: Bike

Went to the end of Forbidden Drive and then back to where it meets the Wissahickon Bike Path. Added on with Kelly Drive to Boathouse Row and back to my house. It was nice out but pretty cold. My hand's were freezing by the end. Forbidden Drive was absolutely beautiful today. All the leaves have started to come out and the dogwoods were in bloom over the gorge. The terrain was a little rough on the my bike, though. I'm using my mom's road bike, and I guess Forbidden Drive is a little more rugged than I realized.

Biking's just not the same as running. You're not as maneuverable and you can't start and stop suddenly; things like crossing streets, weaving through groups of people, and making sharp turns are much more of a pain in the ass than they are with running. It's also been really hard for me to get a good workout in. I feel like my leg power is too limiting a factor. My legs tire out before I can start moving fast enough to really get myself breathing hard. On the plus side it's really cool how fast you can go. When I was on Kelly Drive I'd check my splits and think "would you look at that, I just did a 3:45 mile".
