Raced the 2 mile today. I wanted to PR today but I knew I was going to have to negative split to do it because we were only going out in 5:20. So the plan was to go out in 5:20 and then run a 5:08 second mile. We went out and were through the mile in 5:13 so a little quicker then what I was expecting. I could start to feel my legs weigh on me there. I was good through 6 laps but then I slowed down from 2400 to 2550 meters. I picked it up after that. That was the only part of the race that I really gave up on. i ended up running 10:34 which is 4 seconds off my PR which isn't that bad especially in a duel meet and with the wind. I was happy with it. I think I would be able to run pretty quick if I ran the first mile in close to 5. I want to do that next. By the end of the season I definitely think I can run under 10:15.
