Volume city on Terminator Tuesday

April 23, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
ran 6 alone with WTK playing. went out at snail pace, came back briskly. not bad. walked on the Tmill for 15min later to let the preworkout kick in.

the dreaded leg day has now become one of my favorites. took no-Xplode today, scoop and a half. never felt it rush up on me like the first time i took it but it was a lot more subtle, giving me a sustained energy that lasted me the entire 1 hour 45min lift. yeah, it took awhile today.
Squats, 3x10 with 155lbs, then 2x10 with 165lbs. the 165 felt significantly harder, which is reminiscent of the transition from 125 to 135 a few weeks ago. solid sets of squats though.
Deadlifts. powered thru these mofos today. started with 185lbs, aint nothing but a peanut. 2x10 down easy. 195lbs for 2 sets, no struggle. breaking the 200 mark with 205 for a set of 10, didnt even need a rest pause. just trucked through it. very satisfying.
hack squats. interesting movement and tough too, hitting the quads really well. only had about 10lbs on each side cuz that was all that was needed for the first 3 sets, bumped up to 15lbs the next 2 sets. burns the quads really well and hits the glutes too.
hamstring curls superset with seated calf raises. 90lbs, 5x12 and 40lbs, 5x25. def burned the hams good. adjusted the seating so that it isolated the hamstrings more, as opposed to using my core to cheat.
leg press - 90lbs each side, 5x12 with minimal rest. actually hit complete failure on rep 12 of set 4. came back for a strong set 5.
quad leg extensions - 5x15/failure with just 25lbs each side.
3 sets of lying hamstring curls, 1x10 of 25lbs, then 2x10 w/ 35lbs, which were much tougher.

I call today the Terminator workout. Very high volume. Not suitable for the faint of heart. gonna split quads and hamstring/calves on separate days from now to shorten the tuesday lift and put more on thursday.
