Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I like how everyone's log yesterday was about pace.

Anyways I had the 4x800 and the open 800 today. I got the baton in first in the 4x800; seeing as I was leading off this was expected. I took the first 200 pretty smooth, I heard a 31 from some kid standing there from Elmira giving Seth some times. The next 200 pretty much sucked - it was a 28 I guess as I went through the 400 in 59. After that I guess I really just ran hard, finishing in 2:01 high. Seth passed me on the backstretch, but more fool him as it was windy. On the homestretch I managed to outkick him and hand off in first to Jared by about half a second. It was alright, not what I wanted. I really should have given Jared a bigger lead. Not breaking 2:00 in a relay with Corey anchoring was a disappointment for the rest of the relay. Jared ran great though with a 2:04, Presto was just a man against Shaun with a 2:03, and John hammered it home with a 2:02. 8:10 total and we lost by around 3 seconds which wasn't bad considering the team we were against and the 1:56 or so Cory ran.

The open 800 was next. I didn't want to run this race at all. My hip was so heavy after that 4x800 and I didn't want a part of this open 800. Hearing Mertdog was gonna go out fast really sucked as well, I wanted to win in a kick race if I was gonna win since I wanted it to be as easy as possible. Race got off and I just got straight to Ben and Kept on him. At around 350 Brendon passed him so I went with him and we were through the 400 in around 58 or 59 low I believe, not certain on that one. Anyways, Brendon being Brendon he decides to lead on the wind side, and continues to look back on the wind side. I knew I had him after that straight away. I tried to make a move at 200 to go but he wouldn't let me without me going out into lane 2 1/2 and I wanted no part of that. I honestly thought about just giving up at that point, I considered it deeply until 100 to go. At that point he gained around 2 meters on me. I sucked up my pride though and took off and caught him and passed with 50 meters left to win in 2:00.29 FAT.
All in all not a bad day, wish I broke 2 once though but I'm pleased. In the pool tomorrow because of my hip and groin issues.
